VINYL NYMPHO GETS DIGITAL
It's easy to lose hours on end staring into the illuminating hue of your computer screen, searching blogs and websites for early and hard to find vinyl rips. High quality versions with just enough grain to entice nostalgia, these songs can be surprising crowd pleasers and sometimes, eventually, personal favorites. Disco Rock Machine was a disco-rock group from the mid to late seventies who scored hits with songs like Time To Love, Living for The City and Loving Styles. Their high energy arrangements and expansive instrumentation was accentuated by a strong vocal front and raw dance appeal, paving the way for a unique blend of classic rock, afro funk, and disco. Brainstorm was a Detroit-based funk group with a couple of pleasant cuts from their best selling album, Stormin'. This track is full of jiving congos and percussive elements, a sure-fire dance floor pleaser. Brainstorm was also responsible for the soul classic, This Must Be Heaven, which is what RAW smells like. Anyway, following in the sleazy funk groove that we like to promote, Laurice Hudson gives us Feel My Love, over 7 minutes of beat driven, erotic slo-mo disco (if someone could just please edit out that guitar solo).
